Small Objects by Sonja van Kerkhoff

In the early 1990s I began making objects and relief objects, seeking a convergence between art and familiar products. Even my one-off objects might seem manufactured. "Grains of Salt" (1999) has salt inside the deep frame. The texts refer to salt as a metaphor for the tangible, and the image is a still from the video "Grains of Salt" (1999). "Parable of the Rich Fool" (1993) are small empty houses. At the correct angle, a text is visible, through the roof.
