The original drawing this print is based on was made for an exhibition while I was still living in Dunedin, Aotearoa / New Zealand, for an exhibition on the theme of rugby.
Ladies Touch Sevens is a gentler version of the sport and here I drew hearts instead of a ball and punches. The figuration is inspired by New Zealand Maori Taniwha images.
For making the lithograph, I made a photocopy of a drawing, etched this onto the stone, then drew some on the stone, adding the layers of transluscent ink in four more runs under the press.
