I have taught drawing to all ages, but prefer to teach 11 years and upwards.
I have also given drawing classes for groups of mentally ill outpatients.
Drawing is a form of meditation because it involves concentration. My approach to teaching is to encourage each student to see more, making what they draw a result of this process of seeing. The focus of my teaching is on seeing space and finding ways to interpret this with a pencil.
I teach some techniques for translating 3D perception onto 2D representation in a way so that each student develops their own way drawing rather than to copy a set formula for making drawings.
