“In my work, walking
through
the natural environment becomes a metaphor for the walk through life.
Living
and surviving also relates to the the primal forces in life, the life-
cycle, and rhythm. I experience these primal forces during my summer walks
in Wales.
The primal forces relativize the anxieties of life. They remind me that
life cannot simply be destroyed.”
From
"Tijdcirkel", an
artist book (in Dutch) by Joke Elzinga
and Marlies van Boekel, 1999.
