Three elements seem to connect and disconnect. A man discusses some implications
of attempting to find a theory for cause and effect, while nursing a basket
of deflating balloons. As he puts forth his arguments, the image of a child
repeating a word over and over, gradually emerges from the background becoming
the foreground. The final statement from the man asserts that art is the
extra, the excess from a material cause and we are left with the question
of just what this 'excess' is and with the image of man now only visible
through the orifices of the child's face.
