You Can Never Stand...

Laid out on street in Leiden,
The Netherlands, May 2000

This work was made for the show Ark 2000 in Dilston Grove, London, where pairs of artists were assigned an animal. We were assigned the "stork" and decided to give the usual association of the "arrival of a baby" a twist. Here our stork laid on the ground at your feet, reminds you of your own humanity. As part of a contingent world and we can never be exactly in the same place twice.
