New Vessels is an epic poem by Sen McGlinn with images by Sonja van Kerkhoff.
Its first incarnation was in book form published with 16 black and white images on good quality paper.
This edition of 400 sold out in New Zealand in 1988 or so.
The next presentation was as a series of 19 pastel + pencil drawings for an exhibition in Moray Gallery, Dunedin, in 1987 and a later exhibition in Christchurch, New Zealand.
Between 1988-90, Sonja made a number of prints, paintings and pastels which as extensions of the New Vessels themes, such as the woodcut on the right and the silkscreen images below
